Project Scrapped

Genre: Puzzle, Adventure
Team: Hawthorn Games
Development Time: 3 Months
Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Platform: PC
My Roles: Team Lead, Game & Level Designer, Producer

Project Scrapped is a cozy puzzle game designed for young audiences developed by a fully remote team of 8 students.

The player learns simple programming concepts by using a visual scripting language: as you progress you’ll need to “re-program” some of the game’s elements to solve puzzles in the environment.

The game won “Best Student Game of the Year”, an award issued by TIGA and Creative Assembly.

Mankind’s March

Genre: Turn Based Tactics
Team: Hawthorn Games
Development Time: 5 Months
Engine:
Godot
Platform: PC
My Roles:
Team Lead, Game Designer, Programmer

Mankind’s March is a turn based tactics horror experience developed by a fully remote team of 7 students.

The dynamic terrain allows your squad to shape the combat space turn after turn using abilities, resulting in unique and unpredictable scenarios that reflect your playstyle. Every story is unique, as the game’s systems personalise the stories you experience based on preview choices.

With a strong focus on systemic design, emergent narrative and stressful gameplay, the game was one of the DARE Finalists. The team showcased it at EGX London 2022 and won the DARE “Runner Up” prize for the same year.

And more.

I am always working on a variety of side projects to learn something new, express myself and collaborate with other great developers.

This includes Level Design projects, Game Jams, prototypes for game mechanics, technical exercises and gifts for my family and friends!

You might find some of them on Itch.io.

I am an avid and organized writer, I love researching about games as much as I love making them.

As a personal side project I’ve been colliding all my writing into a dynamic collection of text files that include more than 2000 short essays (1.500.000 words and growing) on Game Development, Programming, Project Management, Psychology, Philosophy, History, Mythology, Architecture and other topics.

Connecting knowledge together enhances my understanding of the world through different perspectives and points of views. I wrote an article on how I make these notes, although it is only available in Italian for now.
